As of 2005, statistics show that there are 62 million registered car users in the United States alone.  Add to that the approximately 6.4 million unregistered users and you have a whole lot of cars traveling the roads day and night!  Indeed, cars are more of a necessity today than a luxury.  As such, when one considers buying a car, he needs to bear in mind a lot of things, including the maintenance.  Owning a car entails more than driving it.  You have to know the basics about cars and the way they operate to get the most use out of them.  You wouldn’t want your car breaking down in the middle of nowhere at midnight, would you?
